Lead Camp Counselor
Overview
At Vertical View, our Lead Camp Counselors play a vital role in creating a safe, engaging, and inspiring summer camp experience. Lead Camp counselors are leaders, mentors, and role models who foster a positive environment where campers feel supported, challenged, and included.
Lead Camp Counselors focus on direct camper engagement and experience and also provide additional leadership by supporting other staff, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring their group runs smoothly.

Guide and support Camp Counselors;

Act as escalation point for issues or concerns;
Camp Counselor Requirements
Must be 17+ years old
Commit to 6 full weeks (Mon–Fri) during summer
Minimum 12 hours/week (2 days) when not leading
Top Rope & Belay Takeover Certified (at our facility)
SafeSport Certified
Previous Camp Counselor experience preferred
Physical Requirements
Demonstrates the capacity to move about the facility efficiently and to react in a timely way to safety situations
Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and work for extended periods of time
Pay and Perks
$14/hour
Free individual membership + one additional membership (if you stay at 20+ hrs/week)
